How Artificial Intelligence Assists a Smart Gate Control for Construction Site

Anavision has recently introduced an AI-assisted smart gate control system to realize the automatic material delivery management for construction sites.

Make use of computer vision and machine learning technologies, an algorithm is developed to detect and classify the type of vehicles entering the construction zone. Along with tracking, the system would also log the arrival and exit time of the vehicle to create a database of the entire activity and time duration for which the vehicle was present at the site.

The site officer enters the information of vehicle, driver, receiving unit, material, delivery date & time, and delivery location into the AI system in advance. With HD network camera facing the site entrance, the AI system can detect if there is any vehicle in the record entering the site. Once detected, AI system will record its arrival time and send a notification to the driver to provide delivery location and site officer’s contact number. Meanwhile, the AI system also sends a message to the site officer about the arrival of materials and driver information. When the delivery vehicle leaves, the exit time will also be recorded as the completion of this delivery.

This AI-based smart gate control solution helps eliminate manual work at the construction site. Automatic tracking of vehicles helps in increasing the overall productivity and prevents unauthorized vehicles from entering the construction site.
